The Perfect Couple

My entire being missed this feeling. Waking up to the sound of raindrops falling, creating soothing sounds. I felt the the chills in my bones but it didn’t matter at all. I was covered by the warmth of the blanket. My flesh waited for a very long time before I felt this thing again. I was paralyzed in my bed. Frozen like a statue never wanting to get up. I want to spend my whole life like this. Not caring about the world. Me and my bed. A perfect couple.

Well, that is one benefit of reading. Keep reading and one day you will feel the burden of all those words that have been let loose on you; tormenting you with their countless meanings, ruining your nights with the thoughts of better interpretations. Their permutations creating beautiful labyrinth where you feel lost and yet blissful. That time the only outlet is to let go of them by Writing. “I write therefore I am.” Or wait, is it the other way around?!!

Books and Shelving

When I open them, most of the books have the smell of an earlier time leaking out between the pages – a special odour of the knowledge and emotions that for ages have been calmly resting between the covers. Breathing it in, I glance through a few pages before returning each book to its shelf.

At some point, you have to shine under bright lights for the people who doubt you to realize,

“Oh shit. I needed this guy. And I screwed it up with him. I hope he doesn’t remember me in a bad way.”

Talking to them to explain to them you value, is of no use. Sometimes their ears can’t hear what their eyes can see.

A little less conversation, a little more action. For our own good.

“Hey, how are you doing, I’m fine. What’s up?”

THIS is a greeting you save for people you know but don’t want to let in, beyond a point; people you’re just getting to know; people who aren’t that interesting to you; people who are friends but not the kind of friends you wouldn’t spend a full day with; people you have to be civil to for whatever social politics you indulge in; and people who you work with or for. For anyone else who’s close and intimate and knows you better than most people and would probably give you a kidney or two if you asked for it, drop the formalities and jump directly into conversation.

“Bitch, I have news. Let’s talk.”

“You look like you have something to tell me. Spill.”

“I kissed a girl. I liked it.”

THESE are acceptable openers.

What I Want.

I indulge in people who are free-spirited, absolutely random and like to remain absolutely impossible to reach or stay in touch with. It’s frustrating but exactly what I want. It’s difficult to explain.

It’s simply the thought of not having something until its orbit clashes with yours and then it’s yours for that brief period of time. That brief period of time will be fun, it will be exciting, it’ll be the highlight of your week. Then that time’s over and you’re left following life’s daily routine, wondering fondly when this time will happen again. It’s a little sad but beautiful. I’d be lost without these elements of unpredictability in my life.
